Bronx, New York.  MONIER LAW Personal Injury Attorney, Phil Monier, obtained $450,000 after a two week trial before Justice Soto in the Supreme Court of the State of New York, Bronx County. The lawsuit was brought to obtain compensation for two pedestrians who were involved in a car accident on a Manhattan Street and suffered shoulder and ankle injuries. The settlement was obtained following closing arguments by the couple’s lawyer, stopping jury deliberations. The lawyer for the operator of the car argued that the two were not seriously injured, that the injuries claimed by the couple were pre-existing and unrelated to the accident, and that they were partly at fault for failing to cross at the intersection.  “We called in experts to explain to the jury the effects of the trauma and argued that the driver had to be held responsible for the injuries caused by his negligence,” explained Phil Monier.
